Three months into daily yoga and my chronic lower back pain is basically gone, wish I'd started years ago

Had nagging lower back pain from years of desk work that physio only partially fixed. Started a simple 20 minute daily yoga routine (mostly hip openers and gentle spine stuff) three months ago out of desperation and honestly it's been more effective than anything else I tried. Not claiming it's magic for everyone, but curious if others have had similar experiences bridging yoga with chronic pain management.

hip mobility work specifically made a huge difference for my lower back too, so much tightness there was just referred pain from hips not the back itself

physio + yoga combo worked way better for me than either alone, they address slightly different things honestly

which routine/app did you follow? been wanting to start something consistent but overwhelmed by all the options out there

started with a free youtube channel honestly, yoga with adriene, super beginner friendly and no pressure

20 min daily consistency beats a 90 min class once a week every time in my experience, the frequency matters more than duration

as a pt myself i always recommend this to desk workers, the issue is usually hip flexor tightness pulling on the lower back

genuinely same story here, 6 months in and i havent had a 'bad back day' in ages, used to be weekly

worth saying this doesnt work for everyone, i have a disc issue and yoga actually made mine worse until i modified heavily with a specialist

the breathing/mindfulness side effect was honestly as valuable to me as the physical benefit, didnt expect that going in
