Quiet luxury is fading and a louder, more personal style era seems to be taking over — anyone else feeling this shift?

For a couple years everything was muted colors, logo-less basics, 'quiet luxury.' Lately I'm noticing more color, more pattern mixing, more genuinely personal/weird choices showing up both on the street and in what my friends are buying. Feels like a reaction to how boring minimalism got once everyone copied the same beige capsule wardrobe. Curious if others are noticing the same shift or if its just my bubble.

quiet luxury got so homogenized it basically became its own uniform, ironic for something that started as an anti-trend

im personally so ready for color to come back, ive been wearing beige and grey for literally 3 years and im bored out of my mind

pattern mixing is risky to actually pull off well though, theres a fine line between 'personal style' and 'looks like you got dressed in the dark', takes practice

fair but honestly thats part of the fun, confidence covers alot of sins in fashion

thrifting has gotten so much more interesting lately because of this shift, way more bold pieces showing up secondhand now that people are cycling out their old quiet luxury basics

quiet luxury was always kind of a flex for people who could afford the expensive basics anyway, maybe the shift is partly about accessibility too not just aesthetics

i still think a good neutral base wardrobe is smart, just add in a few loud statement pieces on top, dont need to go all in either direction

fashion cycles are always a reaction to the previous cycle, minimalism got boring so maximalism comes back, rinse and repeat every few years

my mom has been saying 'everything comes back around' my whole life and she is once again right
