How do you handle your partner having a very different spending style?

Been married 4 years. I'm a saver, my wife is more 'life is short'. We've never had a huge fight but small money tension keeps showing up. Separate accounts? Budget meetings? Curious what's actually worked for other couples.

Monthly money date with snacks. Sounds cheesy but it works.

Saver here married to spender. Honestly her spending made our life more fun, my saving made it safe. Balance.

Don't hide anything. Hidden spending is what breaks trust, not the spending itself.

We do 3 accounts: joint for bills, plus personal for each. Personal money is guilt-free, no questions.

We fought about this for 2 years until we agreed on a fun-money amount. Fights stopped.

Talk about values, not numbers. What does money mean to each of you?

Get a financial planner if it keeps looping. Neutral third party helps a lot.
