Can we talk about the underrated side of jokes without making it complicated

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the tiny repair for a while.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where memes stopped feeling new

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. The delightful constraint is probly the real story

That is the part people skip

Respectfully, I see it the other way

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. I would write it down before changing anything else

The kindness in this post is lovely. I would test it for 6 days before deciding

my version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. The low-effort version is probly the keeper

That is a good question for people with more experience than me

I wanted to like this, but teh side argument is weak. A little friction removed goes a long way

this is adorable and oddly motivating. I used to overcomplicate this constantly

I laughed, but you are not wrong

Useful intention, poor execution. This is more useful on a tired winter than on a perfect day

Jonas Schneider · 13 likes

I needed the reminder to start smaller

kind of wild how often beautifully is the whole issue

Can you expand on that a bit?

Maya Williams · 7 likes

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy

helpful and not preachy, which is rare. The social part surprised me too

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me

That last line is excellent. I keep a note about memes for exactly this reason

Grace Parker · 1 likes

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I am curious whether silly still feels good next month

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. The Melbourne example makes it feel concrete

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. Glad you shared the messy version too
