A surprisingly useful lesson from my desk from my weekend notes
Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Cycling feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.
This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. routes got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 10 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. I would write it down before changing anything else. The best gear is the one that gets used.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. My friend tried it in Lagos and had the opposite result.

I wish more posts had this much context. The social part surprised me too. That route sounds like type-two fun.

This reminds me of something a friend in Kuala Lumpur mentioned. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the train station.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. The practical part is easy to underestimate.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. A little friction removed goes a long way. A tailwind can fix an entire personality for ten minutes.
