The small backend habit that changed my winter from a family dinner
this is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. javascript got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where javascript stopped feeling new

This has cozy competence written all over it. I learned that one the expensive way

this is adorable and oddly motivating. A little friction removed goes a long way

Do you think this would work in a smaller place then Buenos Aires? That is the kind of detail beginners miss

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error

That would annoy me more than it helped. That is where the boring checklist helps

I am curious what changed your mind

glad you shared it; small wins count. The low-effort version is probably teh keeper

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 7 months. It sounds small, but the route matters. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks

good clarification — I read it differently at first

Same here. It took me too long to learn

The best answer in the thread, honestly

@ethannotes4 That sounds great untill you add children/pets/deadlines

I would push back gently on the habit part. I am curious whether performance still feels good next month. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks

That would annoy me more than it helped. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing

Really good advice, and it feels doable. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day

honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful. I used to overcomplicate this constantly

This reminds me of something a friend in Manila mentioned. I would test it for 5 days before deciding

the dinner angle is what sold me. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather then motivation. It sounds small, but the practice run matters

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. I would write it down before changing anything else. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks

I like the idea, but the setup probly matters a lot. I noticed the same thing in Mumbai

beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. That is where the boring checklist helps

Big fan of this approach. I learned that one the expensive way. I would love to see the benchmark numbers

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. That is where the boring checklist helps. A small test case would make this easier to trust
