My dog has started barking at the Halloween decorations in our street. Every. Single. Walk.

Neighbors went all out this year — a 7 foot skeleton, an inflatable spider and a motion activated witch. My 3 year old lab mix loses his mind each time. Any tips for desensitizing a dog to seasonal spooky stuff without just avoiding the whole street for a month?

very brave boy, would trust him against inflatable spiders

approach from a distance he's calm at, treat, move one step closer, repeat. boring but works

the motion activated ones are the worst. my shepherd tried to fight a cackling witch last year

honestly let him sniff it once he calms down. once they realize its just plastic they relax

sniffing is how they process, 100% agree
