Boyfriend/girlfriend folks: do you share phone passcodes?

With all the privacy news (Meta fine etc) my girlfriend and I had a funny conversation about whether we know each others passcodes. We do, but neither of us ever checks. Is sharing a sign of trust or totally unnecessary?
