Unpopular Opinions · by Ayesha Khan · 2026-09-04

The thing nobody told me about opinions after a tiny failure

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Unpopular Opinions feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where food stopped feeling new.

The conclusion is too broad, but the example is interesting. The 8-minute rule is underrated. Small progress still counts.

That made the concept click.

I would pin this if I could.

Honestly, great taste. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. The the train station detail changes the whole answer.

Great point, especially the part about opinions. My friend tried it in Nairobi and had the opposite result.
