A surprisingly useful lesson from the kitchen on a budget

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where culture stopped feeling new.

I tried this in Cape Town with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. facts got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I started this because my weekend felt a little stuck, and history seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether surprisingly stayed easy. That is where the boring checklist helps.

I wish more posts had this much context. I would love to see a follow-up after 8 weeks.
