Powerball is now at \$760 million after nobody hit last night. Lump sum or annuity?

Wednesday's \$716M draw had no jackpot winner so it rolled up again. Rough math says the cash option is around half the headline number before taxes. Be honest: if you hit it, do you take the lump sum and invest it yourself, or take 30 years of guaranteed checks so future-you can't blow it?

"never tell a single relative" the hardest part of this plan by far

I'm doing the third option: not buying a ticket and feeling smug
