Daylight saving time ends this weekend and the Senate still can't decide on permanent DST

Clocks go back Sunday (on Halloween weekend, which is why it's trending). Trump is pushing to make daylight time permanent but senators are skeptical. Personally I'd take either one as long as we stop switching. Team permanent standard time or team permanent summer time?

we tried permanent DST in 1974 and repealed it within a year because kids were walking to school in pitch dark. history rhymes
