A gentle rant about retro and expectations
A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.
I started this because my quiet Sunday felt a little stuck, and emulation seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. My friend tried it in Mexico City and had the opposite result. The real boss fight is finding a night everyone is free.

@noahnotes4 I think both things can be true.

Good reminder that boring can be good.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. The the kitchen detail changes the whole answer.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

I am curious what changed your mind.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I noticed the same thing in Seoul.
