The most awkward part of learning kindness

I tried this in Dublin with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Wholesome feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. community got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. The Cairo example makes it feel concrete.

The Tuesday test is undefeated.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. This is more useful on a tired commute than on a perfect day.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Honestly, great taste. A little friction removed goes a long way.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Fair pushback.

@tola-96 I am curious what changed your mind.

That made the concept click.

Anecdote beats theory here.

Yep, the boring details matter.

That is a good boundary.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

That is the part people skip.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

@curiouscodes11 This is the kind of disagreement I like.

That is a much better way to say it.

There is probably a middle ground here. I would love to see a follow-up after 8 weeks. I needed this reminder today.

Good reminder that boring can be good. This is more useful on a tired busy month than on a perfect day.

Valeria Flores · 3 likes

I am mostly here for the follow-up.

Budi Santoso · 2 likes

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 2 months. The social part surprised me too.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether kindness stayed easy. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Good reminder that boring can be good. I would write it down before changing anything else. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make.

I had the same reaction to amazing.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.
