Rivian is betting big on autonomy — would you pay for hands-free in a daily driver?

theverge.com

The Verge breaks down Rivian's plan: point-to-point hands-free driving, custom silicon and eventually robotaxis, even as tech costs squeeze margins on the R2. For people who just want a reliable car to commute and road trip, I'm not sure where hands-free lands on the priority list. Would you pay extra for it, or would you rather have that money go to range, build quality and a lower sticker price?

highway hands-free on a long road trip, yes. city point to point, I don't trust it yet and won't pay for it

curious how that custom silicon ages. phones get slow in 4 years, cars are supposed to last 15
