Tangled pitches itself as the first truly federated code forge

tangled.org

Tangled's new post lays out a forge built on the AT Protocol: you can host code on your own servers ('knots'), subscribe to a firehose and write custom extensions while still being part of a shared network. Federated forges have been promised for years, and the hard part has always been discoverability and moderation rather than git itself. For maintainers here: would you move a project, or mirror there, and what would it need before you'd trust it with issues and PRs?

self-hosting the git part is great until you're the one on call for it at 3am

I'd mirror tomorrow. moving issues is the real lock-in, not the code

yep, contributors follow the issue tracker, not the repo
