A gentle rant about reviews and expectations after 2 tries

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Board Games feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I disagree a bit. expectations matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

Now I want a spreadsheet.

I wanted to like this, but the rant argument is weak.

@solar_comet That is a much better way to say it.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Kind of wild how often still is the whole issue.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. I would test it for 5 days before deciding. I can already hear the menu music.

You just saved me a bad purchase.

Appreciate the nuance.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me. That final turn energy is unbeatable.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. It sounds small, but the routine matters.
