Fujifilm boosting tape production 5x because AI companies need somewhere to archive data

arstechnica.com

Ars reports Fujifilm is ramping LTO tape output fivefold due to archiving demand driven by AI. Tape keeps being declared dead and keeps coming back because it's cheap, durable and offline. Anyone here use tape at home or for a homelab? Is a used LTO drive still worth it vs. just buying hard drives?
