Google lost ~\$500bn in a day after its AI search hit ad sales. Rethinking my big tech weighting

bbc.co.uk

Alphabet said its AI mode was eating into search advertising revenue, and the stock dropped by about \$500bn in value. My portfolio is roughly 70% global index, 15% tech ETF, 10% bonds, 5% cash, so I'm already heavily in the same names through both funds. I'm not planning to panic sell, but this made me realise how concentrated I actually am. Do you deliberately limit overlap between your index and sector funds?

10% bonds at what age though? that changes everything

i'd look at it as a rebalancing question, not a news question. set bands and stick to them

this. news is noise, bands are the plan

a global index is already about a quarter big tech. adding a tech ETF on top is doubling down whether you mean it or not
