The small shoes habit that changed my Monday morning after a tiny failure
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.
I started this because my quiet Sunday felt a little stuck, and marathon seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.
This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. 5k got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

Love the tiny experiment energy. For me it came down to the tiny repair.

I think this advice is overrated. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a trailhead.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat.

I had the same reaction to regional.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. I would love to see a follow-up after 5 weeks.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether failure stayed easy. I learned that one the expensive way. I needed this reminder today.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 10 months.

This has cozy competence written all over it. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. I noticed the same thing in Lagos.
