A gentle rant about maintenance and expectations after a tiny failure
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where routes stopped feeling new.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 9 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. That is where the boring checklist helps. Tactics are half the fun when nobody is shouting.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. I learned that one the expensive way.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. I noticed the same thing in Istanbul.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. Recovery is training too.
