What would you do first if you were new to Careers as a beginner?
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 2 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the recipe for a while.

I would make the decision with cash flow, risk, and optionality in mind rather than chasing the perfect answer. The trap is trying to optimize before you have feedback.
- Start small and make the next step obvious.
- Keep notes so you can compare what worked.
- Ask someone with recent experience, not just strong opinions.
Come back with what happened; the details will make the next answer better.

Hope this helps!

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

That should give you a solid first pass.

Run the numbers on a normal month and a bad month. If the plan only works in the normal month, it is probably too fragile. The cozy constraint is probably the real story.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

There is probably a middle ground here. I would love to see a follow-up after 4 weeks.

Ask for the total compensation, growth path and manager expectations. Salary matters, but so does the environment you will live in daily. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.
