I tried doing tools the boring way and it worked in real life

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make DIY feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where repairs stopped feeling new.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. Process photos would be fun to see.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. My friend tried it in Kuala Lumpur and had the opposite result.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. The the corner shop detail changes the whole answer.

Really good advice, and it feels doable.
