My favorite low-effort upgrade for maintainers before coffee

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 9 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

That would annoy me more than it helped. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

I think both things can be true.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

Beautifully concise.

Honestly, great taste. I keep a note about licenses for exactly this reason. Good reminder that tools should serve people, not the reverse.

Anecdote beats theory here.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. Naming things remains undefeated as the hardest problem.

That is a much better way to say it.

Good reminder that boring can be good. It sounds small, but the playlist matters.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I learned that one the expensive way.

This made me smile more than expected. I noticed the same thing in Manila.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink maintainers.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. This pairs weirdly well with falafel. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

I disagree a bit. coffee matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.
