A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made for absolute beginners

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the practice run for a while.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I tried this in Warsaw with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about glad. It sounds small, but the first draft matters.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

I wish more posts had this much context. The late summer version is even more interesting. That route sounds like type-two fun.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Lisbon? The social part surprised me too.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.
