A gentle rant about multiplayer and expectations from my desk
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where multiplayer stopped feeling new.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. The winter version is even more interesting.

I do not have a strong take, but the expectations detail is useful. The social part surprised me too.

What would you change if you started over?

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. This pairs weirdly well with pasta. This is why house rules need a constitution.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. The 4-minute rule is underrated.

Great point, especially the part about rant. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

@tiny_fern99 I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. The 10-minute rule is underrated. This is why house rules need a constitution.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. I noticed the same thing in Nairobi.

This made me smile more than expected. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Great point, especially the part about expectations. The cozy constraint is probably the real story.
