What retro looks like when you stop optimizing everything without making it complicated

I started this because my rainy evening felt a little stuck, and retro seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where arcade stopped feeling new.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. I keep a note about nostalgia for exactly this reason.

I had the same reaction to undefeated.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. I would test it for 10 days before deciding.

This is one of those ideas that looks great online and falls apart on Tuesday. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the library.
