My 2-month experiment with prompts with a quiet constraint

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Writing feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

This is adorable and oddly motivating. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

Thanks for making it less intimidating.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

I think this advice is overrated. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Good reminder that boring can be good. The Istanbul example makes it feel concrete.

That would annoy me more than it helped. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Could be regional too.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. I would love to see a follow-up after 6 weeks.

The vibe here is immaculate. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Glad you shared it; small wins count.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Berlin?

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. I would love to see a follow-up after 5 weeks.

This is useful for some cases, but terrible advice if the stakes are high. I noticed the same thing in Cairo.

I am cheering for this update. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. The a coworking table detail changes the whole answer. This makes me want to start a weekend project.
