A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made on a budget

I tried this in Buenos Aires with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 8 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. This pairs weirdly well with tacos.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

I found this disappointing because it skips the hardest part. The busy month version is even more interesting.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink made. My friend tried it in Nairobi and had the opposite result.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me.

Noted, and thank you.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. I am curious whether science still feels good next month.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? I would love to see a follow-up after 8 weeks.

That is a good boundary.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. I noticed the same thing in Nairobi.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. This makes me want to look at a map for an hour.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. This pairs weirdly well with lentil soup.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I would love to see a follow-up after 9 weeks.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. My friend tried it in Melbourne and had the opposite result.

I am cheering for this update.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I would write it down before changing anything else.

This. Exactly this.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. This is more useful on a tired busy month than on a perfect day.
