A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made before coffee

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the setup for a while.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether before stayed easy. The useful constraint is probably the real story.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

This sounds good, but in practice it can be a bad idea without more context. The 9-minute rule is underrated.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Yep, the boring details matter.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

Can you expand on that a bit?
