I tried doing advice the boring way and it worked in Lisbon

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 2 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Parenting feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I am cheering for this update. The 4-minute rule is underrated.

I think this advice is overrated. The a coworking table detail changes the whole answer.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. The chaotic part is easy to underestimate. I needed this reminder today.

I think both things can be true.

@aisha-55 Thanks, that actually helped.

Big fan of this approach. My only addition is to make the first step visible. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer.

I would love a follow-up example.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. I would test it for 6 days before deciding.

There is probably a middle ground here. I would write it down before changing anything else.
