A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made
I tried this in Buenos Aires with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the first draft for a while.
I tried this in Lisbon with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. The commute version is even more interesting.

The mistake angle is what sold me.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. The 3-minute rule is underrated.

I wish more posts had this much context. The a tiny balcony detail changes the whole answer.

Big fan of this approach. The Monday morning version is even more interesting.

Honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. This is why house rules need a constitution.

Great point, especially the part about weirdly.

What would you change if you started over? I used to overcomplicate this constantly.
