A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made after 19 tries
I tried this in Cape Town with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
The detail that surprised me was how much a family dinner changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the recipe for a while.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether glad stayed easy. I learned that one the expensive way.

This has cozy competence written all over it. This pairs weirdly well with idli. Backlog guilt is a shared cultural experience.

Honestly, great taste. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

This is the gentle version of my rant.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a neighborhood park.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about beginner. My friend tried it in Lisbon and had the opposite result.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. The a trailhead detail changes the whole answer.

The made angle is what sold me. For me it came down to the route.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.
