I tried doing wildlife the boring way and it worked after 47 tries

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 9 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. The Monday morning version is even more interesting.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. The a trailhead detail changes the whole answer.

Big fan of this approach. The social part surprised me too.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. I am curious whether ecology still feels good next month.

@nicolasrides63 I like this more than the top-level advice.

Lina Al Harbi · 3 likes

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Good reminder that boring can be good. I keep a note about ecology for exactly this reason.

That is a good boundary.

This feels a little overrated to me, even if the intention is good. I learned that one the expensive way.

Jonas Schneider · 11 likes

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. The weekend version is even more interesting.

Maja Wiśniewska · 11 likes

The vibe here is immaculate. I learned that one the expensive way.

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability. Nature keeps being stranger than the simplified diagram.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. The practical constraint is probably the real story.

I disagree a bit. boring matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations.
