I tried doing console the boring way and it worked for absolute beginners

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the routine for a while.

I tried this in Warsaw with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I tried this in Nairobi with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. The social part surprised me too. This is why house rules need a constitution.

Yep, the boring details matter.

I do not have a strong take, but the boring detail is useful. The weekend version is even more interesting.

I think this advice is overrated. The commute version is even more interesting.

That is a good boundary.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat.
