The beautiful joy of doing the tiny repair badly at first in real life

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. jokes got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the playlist for a while.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 4 months. I would write it down before changing anything else.

@rohan-84 Fair pushback.

@rohan-84 The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

Kind of wild how often else is the whole issue.

Love the tiny experiment energy. The the train station detail changes the whole answer.

This has cozy competence written all over it. My friend tried it in São Paulo and had the opposite result.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. It sounds small, but the route matters.

I disagree a bit. real matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. For me it came down to the practice run.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. This pairs weirdly well with shakshuka.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. This is more useful on a tired rainy evening than on a perfect day.
