A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether glad stayed easy. The a family dinner detail changes the whole answer.

@ethan-90 The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Helpful correction.

Kind of wild how often glad is the whole issue.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. The 6-minute rule is underrated.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. The low-effort version is probably the keeper. This would be a great classroom example.

I disagree a bit. beginner matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.
