My 2-month experiment with budgeting for absolute beginners

I started this because my weekend felt a little stuck, and saving seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. saving got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

The experiment angle is what sold me. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

That is a much better way to say it.

Big fan of this approach. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

Good reminder that boring can be good. The delightful part is easy to underestimate.

@bakerRunner61 Same here. It took me too long to learn.
