A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made from my desk

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. backend got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I tried this in Cape Town with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. A little friction removed goes a long way.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. The awkward constraint is probably the real story.

That is the part people skip.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. For me it came down to the first draft.

@pl_river Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 7 months. The awkward part is easy to underestimate.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it.
