Unpopular Opinions · by Mariana Costa · 2026-09-11

A tiny win from Toronto that made my week without making it complicated

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 10 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

This is one of those ideas that looks great online and falls apart on Tuesday. I would love to see a follow-up after 4 weeks.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I keep a note about debate for exactly this reason.

There is probably a middle ground here. The rainy evening version is even more interesting. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Big fan of this approach. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.
