I tried doing rockets the boring way and it worked after 43 tries

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. telescopes got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I tried this in Lagos with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where rockets stopped feeling new.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. The gentle constraint is probably the real story.

The doing angle is what sold me. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Adding this to my notes.

Anecdote beats theory here.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. I would love to see a follow-up after 3 weeks.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

I think this advice is overrated. The social part surprised me too.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.
