A gentle rant about cities and expectations that actually stuck
This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. trips got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where cities stopped feeling new.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about gentle. I am curious whether budget still feels good next month.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. I learned that one the expensive way.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. For me it came down to the first draft.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. My friend tried it in Dublin and had the opposite result.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. History gets easier to understand when you can place it on a street.

This has cozy competence written all over it. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink rant. The quiet constraint is probably the real story.
