I changed one thing and suddenly portraits made sense without making it complicated
I tried this in Madrid with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the practice run for a while.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 8 months. I keep a note about portraits for exactly this reason.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. It sounds small, but the routine matters.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. This is more useful on a tired late summer than on a perfect day. I like that it feels lived-in instead of over-polished.

The vibe here is immaculate. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. I learned that one the expensive way.

This has cozy competence written all over it. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. The busy month version is even more interesting.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. For me it came down to the prototype.
