Vegan Kitchen · by Rizky Pratama · 2026-09-13

The thing nobody told me about recipes after a tiny failure

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Vegan Kitchen feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I tried this in Madrid with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I keep a note about nutrition for exactly this reason. I would absolutely hover near the kitchen for this.

Fair pushback.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. I would love to see a follow-up after 9 weeks.
