A tiny story about tacos, Cairo and timing on a budget

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. fiction got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

The detail that surprised me was how much the kitchen changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Books feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. The delightful part is easy to underestimate. That scene lives rent-free in my head.

Fair pushback.
