Today I Learned · by Noé Petit · 2026-09-14

I finally understand why Today I Learned people care about history

I tried this in Cape Town with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where history stopped feeling new.

I disagree a bit. finally matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. The the library detail changes the whole answer.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. The winter version is even more interesting.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink people. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. A little friction removed goes a long way.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The the corner shop detail changes the whole answer. Small progress still counts.

I do not have a strong take, but the finally detail is useful. The a neighborhood park detail changes the whole answer. Glad you shared the messy version too.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. The weekend version is even more interesting.
