Today I Learned · by Cozy Noodle · 2026-09-14
A tiny story about shakshuka, Kuala Lumpur and timing without making it complicated
Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Today I Learned feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.
The detail that surprised me was how much a tiny balcony changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 2 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. I would write it down before changing anything else.

@lanternMender60 I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

The vibe here is immaculate. The social part surprised me too. Glad you shared the messy version too.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. I would test it for 6 days before deciding.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. The a coworking table detail changes the whole answer.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. My friend tried it in Cairo and had the opposite result.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I learned that one the expensive way.
