A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made from the train station

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

The vibe here is immaculate. This is more useful on a tired Monday morning than on a perfect day.

Good reminder that boring can be good. A little friction removed goes a long way. I needed this reminder today.

I do not have a strong take, but the glad detail is useful. My only addition is to make the first step visible. I needed this reminder today.

That would annoy me more than it helped. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

There is probably a middle ground here.

Great point, especially the part about station. The surprising part is easy to underestimate. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. For me it came down to the tiny repair.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

I think both things can be true.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 10 months. The social part surprised me too.
