Today I Learned · by Chloe Davis · 2026-09-15

Notes from a very normal rainy evening with Today I Learned with a surprising constraint

Part of me wanted teh fancy version with all teh tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with teh route for a while.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep teh first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate teh boring repeat

interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 7 months. My friend tried it in Istanbul and had the opposite result

Great point, especially the part about rainy. The awkward constraint is probably the real story

I had the same reaction to constraint

love the tiny experiment energy. The practical constraint is probably the real story

This has cozy competence written all over it

I do not have a strong take but the constraint detail is useful

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. I keep a note about history for exactly this reason. Glad you shared the messy version too

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. The ambitious part is easy to underestimate

wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I would love to see a follow-up after 6 weeks. Small progress still counts

Now I want a spreadsheet

Really good advice, and it feels doable. I used to overcomplicate this constantly

that last line is excellent
