A gentle rant about libraries and expectations
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 8 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where nonfiction stopped feeling new.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the practice run for a while.

What would you change if you started over? A little friction removed goes a long way. That scene lives rent-free in my head.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Great point, especially the part about libraries. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I would test it for 4 days before deciding.

I disagree a bit. rant matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. The surprising constraint is probably the real story. I love when a recommendation comes with the right mood attached.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. I would test it for 8 days before deciding.

@nusratcodes This comment has main-character footnote energy.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. The 5-minute rule is underrated.
